Personalizing the Nova T-Shirt Dress

Personalizing the Nova T-Shirt Dress

I've got a new freebie coming your way that can be of big help when creating your Nova T-Shirt Dress.  I always have trouble picking out fabric for my projects.  I'm usually wandering around the fabric store for hours on end (no joke, just ask my husband) looking for the perfect fabric.  Once I finally select a fabric and bring it home, my husband always looks skeptical when he sees what I chose.  It's not his fault, he just can't picture what I'm trying to describe with my words.  To help bridge this communication gap, I use my illustrations to get my point across.  Illustrating color or prints isn't my strong suit, so I like to cut out the garment from my black-and-white sketch and hold it over my fabric.  It's such a time saver and a great way to find a print that looks good on a specific silhouette.

Here are some different ways to use the Nova T-Shirt Dress Illustration:

  1. Use an X-Acto knife to cut out the dress and snap a picture of it in front of your favorite fabric, object, or landscape.
  2. Color in the dress with markers, paint, or whatever medium you choose to use (kudos to you if you have the patience to do this).
  3. Use photoshop or Illustrator to edit the design and make it your own.
  4. Use a combination of the above methods to come up with something completely original!

You can grab your cut-out illustration here.  Don't forget to tag @_tailored_trends in your personalized illustration for a chance to be featured on my Instagram story.  I can't wait to see what ya'll come up with!
